Baby Shower Pics

One thing that I am very blessed with is awesome friends! I had two baby showers and these are a few pics from them. My Owasso friends & neighbors were at one and then Hayden's school had myself and another PTO mom a shower this week. As you can see from the pics they were both a wonderful time and yes, I have very generous and creative friends (if I do say so myself).

Look at these personalized burp clothes and blankets, I got even more of them. Parker will be in style!

I had lots of help, it was the girls 1st baby shower....hope it met their expectations!

Chuck's Aunt Sherry, my mom Phyllis and my aunt Anna Mae all came in town for the shower! Oh, yes, I am also blessed with wonderful family!!!

Can you believe we had over 6 inches of snow the last weekend in March! Crazy Oklahoma weather! But it didn't stop many of them, we still had a great time!

Easter 2009

It has been awhile since I've posted pics. But actually there hasn't been a lot going on that has been picture worthy. Here are some pics of our Easter. The bunny showed up at our house (outside) on Saturday because there was a 100% chance of rain on Easter and guess what...they were right! I have a thing about hunting Easter eggs, it must be done outside! I have a couple of stories about the pics, first notice Chuck's pink shirt and tie....Alex picked that out and was so proud of herself! I did call Chuck before I purchased the clothes and he said he would wear it and he did!
The kids can't wait for their sister, Parker Grace. They are always talking to her and kissing her (my belly!).

Please note Daddy's "pink" shirt & tie! What he will do for his little girl! Can you tell Hayden loves wearing a tie!

Easter morning. The Easter bunny lefts baskets inside this year, we had rain all day long.

Alex - Her first cooking experience

Alex received 2 new cookbooks for Christmas. For her Papa Jim's birthday, she wanted to cook something for him. We went through her Paula Dean cookbook and she selected cinnamon rolls. Believe it or not, they were made from crescent rolls, cinnamon and sugar and marshmallows. And even more surprising, they were good! We had a hard time keeping Hayden out of them! I was very proud of her and her Papa enjoyed them.

Papa Jim and Grandma Sarah were out of town over the holidays, so we had Christmas with them the weekend after.

Papa Jim is a fly fisherman and is working on making Hayden one. He got a fly fishing vest and waiders to go to the river with Papa.

They made Alex a 4 baby bunkbed for her American Girl dolls. She also got new outfits for them.

New Years Eve

We got a Wii a few months ago at the Knight household. For Christmas, I thought it would be nice if Hayden asked for the "Rock Band" game. It contains a guitar, drums and microphone. He never would bite on that idea, so Chuck finally said to leave him alone and he would buy it for me! ha ha Well, I got it for Christmas and we finally got all 3 pieces hooked up on New Years Eve. (yes it took us longer to figure it out than any kid!) I have to admit, we were thankful the kids were all at a neighbors house, because things got a little competitive and we didn't have natural musical talent!

Alex had her friend Macey over during Christmas break. They had a good time, especially in the barn with our new baby goats! Macey is an animal lover!!! It's hard to keep her out of the barn when she comes over.

This was Macey's favorite goat....a possible birthday gift perhaps!?!

They had fun scooting on the blanket on the wood floors. They can have the most fun doing the littlest things! I love hearing them giggling and screaming, they are all girl.

Busy December

We kicked off our Kansas/Missouri Christmas trip with a stop at Aunt Sherry & Uncle Larry's. We were a couple of days eary as we stopped by on our way up because the weather was bad and we couldn't go all the way to Missouri on Friday. We also stopped by on our way home, so they got a double dose of us!

A couple of weeks before Christmas, we went to a Santa Party, the kids got to decorate gingerbread houses. Our friend Ms. Cindy was kind enough to put over 30 of them together for the party!!

Alex was proud of her gingerbread house.

Alex was Cardinal of Character for her class during a week in December. The "Cardinal" was nice enough to come by and congratulate the kids!

A Proud Mommy Story

I'm not real big on blogging without photos's but I feel the need to share this little story. Alex has been sick with strep throat since Saturday and was home from school Mon and Tues. This is the 3rd case of it she has had since mid Oct. I took her to the Dr. yesterday and they want to see her at the end of Dec to check her out and evaluate her then. That is the background to the story.

I went to Hayden's school today to pick him up and was talking to his teacher, she told me to make sure I read his paper out in the hall. It was titled what I can give........Hayden wrote that he wanted to give to his sister Alex and he wanted to give her his body, because she is always sick. He wanted to do this because he loves her!

Talk about making mommy want to cry! All those times you think they can't stand each other after hours of arguing and fighting.......it is all worth it in the end. Maybe we are doing something right with our kiddos! I know one thing for sure, I do love them and the people they are becoming!

Disney Trip

We are home! Just thought I'd pass along a couple of pics to let you see that we had a good time! We got home Saturday evening and I was very lazy today! This is the first time I've been on the computer in a week!!! That is a record for me! Hopefully when I catch up at work and home, I will get some more pics put on. We have lots of good stories and memories...can't wait to share them with you.

We had a safari view from our balcony. The kids loved to see what animals they could see every morning and evening. I think this was one of Hayden's favorite things to do. In case you didn't figure it out, we stayed at the Animal Kingdom Lodge.
Our first morning was spent at Animal Kingdom and began with a character breakfast. Donald Duck was our first, followed by Daisy. We had 5 character meals throughout the week and saw other character in the parks. The kids had their autograph books and I got pics with all of them.

Here we are in front of the tree at Animal Kingdom. This is one of the few pics that was taken with my camera that I'm actually in! I made everyone stop at each Disney photographer we saw so we could get family pics taken. They were fine with this the first couple of days, but by mid week they were sick of it! I just wanted proof that I was there! I have purchased a CD with all of those pics on them and will post those pics when I get them.

Knight Update (and excuses)

I know I have been slacking on my blogging. I do have one excuse, if that helps. I lost the cord that connects my camera and computer....but, I found it!!!!!!!! Hayden had his last fall baseball game last weekend. Alex finished up her flag football cheerleading on Monday night. So what does that mean....a little free time on the weekends for the Knights!

I am busy finishing up our PTO fundraiser at Hayden's school and getting ready for our basket auction in November. We are raising money to purchase technology for the 1st and 2nd grades at his school. Alex will be at this school next year and will benefit as well. It is worth all the time and energy when we purchase SmartBoards for each classroom (we currently have raised enough $$ to put them in 1/2 of the classrooms! :)

We are also getting ready for our big trip to Disney World next week. We leave on Sunday for the entire week!! The kids are so excited and I am too. OK, Chuck doesn't seem to be sharing in our enthusiasm yet, but I have hopes that when we get there he will enjoy if more that he thinks. My brother Rustin is staying with us for a while, so he gets to take care of all of the animals and the house while we are away. He refuses to take care of Hayden's rat "Ralphy", so he will be visiting Jayci, our neighbor for the week

Labor Day Weekend Rodeo

This is a video of my niece, Kelsey, steer riding at a local rodeo over Labor Day weekend. We were so proud of her! She may have been the only cowgirl to ride, but she wasn't the only one to fall off (all of the guys did as well)! She is one tough cookie and loves her horses. I can't believe how much she has grown up. We make it to Missouri to my parents 3-4 times a year and each time I'm in shock at how much she has changed.

It has been a few days since I've posted, so just thought I'd drop a line and let you know what's going on with the Knights!

We have been busy with Alex's cheerleading and Hayden's baseball....or trying to keep up with the rescheduled games because of rain! I am also busy with the PTO as we are in the middle of our fundraiser and ending our t-shirt sales. This is our busy time of year, but it slow down a bit next month, until our basket auction in November.

We are also starting to count the days until our Disney trip!!! 1 month away!! We are getting so excited. I have started getting luggage tags and other misc. stuff in the mail from Disney...making it more real every day! We booked our trip through Disney and they take care of everything. We check our luggage in at Tulsa and when we arrive in Orlando, they bus us to our hotel and our luggage is delivered within a couple of hours to our room! Talk about service! We are staying for 6 days. This is the longest vacation we have taken since our honeymoon! The kids are so excited you can't even imagine. We have friends that have been to disney and have passed along lots of good advice to make our trip go even smoother. It seems like 6 days is a long time, but I think it will end up going by fast!

Needless to say, there will be one long....long....blog when we get back filled with pics!

I have some pics from our trip to Milan over Labor Day that I need to get put up, so check back soon and hopefully I will get that done.

Celebrating With Friends

We have a group of friends who get together for birthdays (OK, it a good excuse to have a girls night out!). 3 of us were celebrating in August, so we went to a fondue restaurant in Tulsa, The Melting Pot. It is a perfect place for us, it takes about 3 hours to eat, so lots of talking can take place!!

First Day of School 2008-09

May 14, 2008, school started!! Hayden & Alex are both in school all day! I managed to spend the entire day running errands and picking up the rest of their school supplies. It is hard for me to imagine I will have a couple of free days each week.

A Few Good Friends

So, here is a little history of this group. Over 5 years ago there were 7 moms who were looking for a "few good friends". We were all new moms who needed to find a play group for our children...and for ourselves! It is an understatement to say that we found a good group, because we found a great group and all keep in touch to this day. Out of our group, Jennifer moved to Florida (we went and saw her in April), Brett is in St. Louis, and the rest of us are still in the area. Brett was on her way home from her in-laws and stopped by for the night with her 3 boys. Cindy and Monica's families came over for dinner and we had a fun evening catching up. This was suppose to be the "good" pic of the kids! They have all gotten soooo big!

Caterpiller

OK, our little friend Macey was at our house last week. She is a BIG animal/nature girl, so leave it to her to find a chrysalis and/or caccoon. Of course when they were looking at it, it "fell" out of the tree. We had to save it, so we took it inside to an aquarium. It looked closed up when we first put it in, but now the caterpillar goes in and out of it and takes the chrysalis all over the place. So, our mommy friends are wondering what kind it is and what it is doing. If you have any expertise in this subject, please leave your comments and the rest of us will learn! Alex really likes checking on it daily to find out "where" it is! I'll keep you updated.

New (Painted) Bathroom

We have been in our house for 6 years...Wow! In those 6 years, I have not done anything to our master bedroom or bath. So, Chuck went out of town last weekend and I decided I was going to paint our bathroom. I love blue and brown together, so that is the theme I went for. It is very simple, but sure looks better than the taupe walls. Next is a chocolate brown wall in the bedroom.....don't know if Chuck will leave again anytime soon, he doesn't like change! ha ha

Alex's Girly Birthday Party

Alex had 6 friends over for her birthday. We had a lot of things planned and all went well. They were all soooo good! Chuck could not believe how well behaved they all were. I told him that 7 little boys could never be so quiet as those girls were!

Hayden came home and he had to give Alex her birthday presents. We also saved her "big" present for when he got home.

Alex missed her 'Bubba' while he was gone. Hayden got her a Camp Rock shirt and purse...right up her ally!
Alex had outgrown her old bike, so Mom and Hayden picked out this purple, sparkly one.
She can ride it, but has a little trouble stopping.
She is proud of it!!!

Alex's 6th Birthday

For Alex's birthday we opened presents in the morning and went out to eat at an Italian restaurant in Owasso (she wanted pizza). Hayden was still at Grandma Phyllis and Papa Terry's, so he missed the dinner.

Uncle Rustin was nice enough to bring Alex a birthday cake to the restaurant.

Ralphy the Rat

Hayden and our neighbor Jayci have been saving $$ and cleaning out my car to purchase a rat.
Ralphy is only 3 weeks old. My hope is that everyone will fall in love with the baby Ralphy and will continue to love him as he grows into a true rat!!!

Alex's school had a "Fun Day" at the end of school. Our school mascot the "Cardinal" was there to play with the kids!!
Alex received her graduation certificate for Pre-K from the principal, Mrs. Pollard.

Hayden received a trophy for 2nd place team in his 7 Yr. Old Coach Pitch Baseball League. He also received "Defensive Player of the Year" from his team.

Family and neighbors came over on the evening of Hayden's birthday. We had a cookout followed by cupcakes and homemade icecream. He also got to open up family gifts and cards.

Hayden's Birthday

We have started having two birthday celebrations for the kids. One on their actual birthday with family and neighbors and a "friends party" at a later date. This year Hayden wanted a party at Incredible Pizza, so we loaded up a few of his friends and spent an evening playing there. They went bowling, drove race cars, played miniture golf and played lots of other games. They all had a good time!

After eating lots of pizza we had cupcakes to help celebrate.
